A 6.2 magnitude earthquake hit a northeastern region of Afghanistan at 4:23 a.m. Sunday Beijing Time, according the China Earthquake Administration. 
　　 The quake jolted the area 36.6 degrees north latitude and 71.0 degrees east longitude at a depth of around 223 km.
