An explosion occurred at a factory in New Zealand's Southland on Monday morning, New Zealand media reported.
Police have not yet released details about the location of the blast or its severity but it is believed to be at Fonterra's Edendale plant, 40 km northeast of New Zealand's southern city of Invercargill. There has been a chemical leak at the factory
An emergency command center was being set up and police advised State Highway One had been closed and diversions were in place.
